Hanging Lamp Shade (Restoration)

This project focused on the restoration of a vintage stained glass hanging lamp shade that had suffered multiple breaks and structural failures over time. Cracked and missing glass sections were carefully removed and replaced with closely matched pieces, preserving the original color range and surface texture. Weakened lead came was repaired and reinforced to restore the shade’s stability while maintaining its original proportions and profile.

Warm amber and cream tones once again glow evenly when illuminated, allowing the lamp to function as it was originally intended. Rather than altering the design, the restoration prioritizes continuity and respect for the original craftsmanship. The finished shade retains its age and character, now strengthened for safe use and continued enjoyment, demonstrating a careful balance between repair, preservation, and longevity.
