Sunrise Transom Stained Glass Window

A custom stained glass transom designed as a permanent architectural feature in a private home. The composition centers on a rising sun, with warm amber and gold tones spreading outward into layered blues and greens. Leaf forms drift across the light, creating a sense of movement while keeping the overall scene grounded and balanced.

The arched shape guided the design from the beginning, allowing the glass to follow the natural curve of the opening rather than fight against it. From early sketches and full-scale patterning through cutting, leading, and final installation, the piece was built to feel integrated into the space. Once installed, the window filters daylight throughout the room, shifting in color and intensity as the day unfolds.
